Silver Care Guide
A little care keeps sterling silver looking its best. Here's how to protect the shine.
Everyday habits
- Put jewellery on last — after perfume, lotion and hairspray
- Remove pieces before swimming, bathing or working out
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing to remove oils
Storing your silver
Keep each piece in a dry, airtight pouch or box, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Storing items separately prevents scratches and tangling.
Cleaning at home
For light tarnish, gently rub the piece with a soft silver-polishing cloth. For a deeper clean, use warm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse and pat dry. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive materials.
Why silver tarnishes
Tarnish is a natural reaction between silver and the air — it's not a fault, and it wipes away easily. Wearing your silver often actually helps keep it bright.
Oxidised & antique finishes
Some of our pieces are deliberately oxidised for an antique look. Clean these gently with a dry cloth only, so you don't lift the finish.
